As part of the New Hampton School’s Campus Master Plan update in 2011, OMR was asked to develop conceptual design options for a new Hockey Center for the school.
The new Hockey Center is now in schematic design. After careful consideration, an option to demolish the existing hockey rink was selected to make room for the new Hockey Center. This integrated design will provide for a new day student drop-off area and entry to the school. While creating a connection to the athletic fields, it also offers additional parking, and conceals views of buses parked on the site.
The new Hockey Center will provide the school with its first enclosed rink. The rink will feature spectator seating, ski storage, coaches’ offices and locker rooms that will serve hockey, football, and lacrosse. A function room on the west side of the rink, with long views out to the athletic fields, will provide a warm place to watch hockey games.
