OMR worked closely with The Ethel Walker School community on the design of a new Centennial Wellness/Athletics Center that includes:

• Athletic Center with a double gymnasium, fitness, trainer, and team rooms

• Dance and yoga studios

• A tournament quality swimming venue

• Squash courts

• Wellness Center with health and counseling suites

• Student Center including large gathering spaces, smaller informal study spaces, the Dean of Students offices, a game room and a cafe.

The project was designed to connect to the main academic and arts buildings as well as to the middle school to provide a new center to the school where all students can come together. The design features a South-facing student center which opens out onto the new pedestrian-only Centennial Lawn. The larger athletic spaces are located on the northern side of the site and are partially set below grade to allow the new Center to nestle in next to the existing historic buildings without overwhelming them.
